Graham Cummins signs for 2020

Waterford FC is delighted to announce the signing of Graham Cummins.

Having spent the second half of last season on loan with Shamrock Rovers, the striker returns to the RSC for his second spell at the club, having last wore a Blue shirt in the 2009 season. In his last spell, the former St Johnstone striker played 28 games scoring 17 times.

“I’m really excited to be back in Waterford. It feels right to come back. At this stage of my career, it more about enjoying the football, and from speaking to Alan (Reynolds) that’s something I think I can do here.

“I have a lot of good memories from playing down here before, and obviously the club has pushed on in a big way over the last few years. Obviously our main focus will be winning games and driving on again, but personally I want to enjoy my football again and do what strikers are supposed to do and find the back of the net.

“I’ve spoken to Rennie a few times and he’s been a massive influence on me coming down. He has a great vibe about him. He came in as a coach in 2009 and his knowledge of the game is second to none.

“I’ve spoken to a few lads who played under him at Pats and Cork and everyone can only say good things about him.”

Graham becomes the fifth player to sign for the Blues, with Will Fitzgerald, Dean Walsh, John Martin and Shane Griffin all committing their services to the Blues for the 2020 season.

Speaking to WaterfordFC.ie, Blues manager Alan Reynolds said:

“Graham is a great addition to the club, and I’m delighted for him to return to Waterford.

“We’ve spoken, and at this stage of his career, he wants to enjoy playing. I understand that, and I’m delighted that he feels that he’ll enjoy it here.

“Signing a player of his stature in the league is a sign of intent from us.”
